Attorney Profile
Ransom was born and raised in Beulaville, North Carolina. He graduated summa cum laude from North Carolina State University in 2023 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and a concentration in Finance. He earned his Juris Doctor from Campbell University’s Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law in 2026.
Growing up, Ransom spent much of his time working cattle, baling hay, and operating equipment on the farm. Those long days in the heat taught him the value of perseverance, responsibility, and a job well done, principles that continue to guide him today. He credits his grandfather, the late Ray Carroll Smith, who showed Ransom by example what it means to work hard, remain humble, and take pride in what you do.
While attending NC State, Ransom decided to pursue a legal career with the goal of returning home to serve his community. His connection to Duplin County and the people who shaped his upbringing remains central to that purpose. For Ransom, practicing law is an opportunity to serve the community that has given him so much.
