The son of two educators, Justin was born and raised in the Duplin County town of Beulaville. He received undergraduate degrees in History with honors and Political Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2004 and his Juris Doctor from Campbell University in 2007. After working in Onslow County until the fall of 2008, Justin returned home to Duplin County to focus his practice on criminal defense and personal injury litigation. In addition, Justin B. Hunter is a board certified specialist in state criminal law. Outside of his practice, Justin’s greatest pride is his family, and his wife, Katy, and children, Mary Blake and Wilson, are the inspiration behind everything he does. He is also forever grateful to the late Timothy W. Smith, who taught him the craft of practicing law and whose influence continues to guide his work every day.
